A real Classic

NIRVANA was carefully modified in 1985 at the Hinckley Boat yard, adding a 4’ transom extension, a powerful bow sprit and modifying her from a ketch to a cutter rig. Her mast height was increased to 63’11”, giving her a favorable sail displacement ratio of 15.6. She carries 1123 square feet of working sails, a furling genoa, furling staysail, and main. The hull is solid fiberglass, with a keel/centerboard, a center cockpit, an aft cabin, and an owner’s private aft cockpit.   The vessel is a solid, very stable, long range cruising yacht with excellent sailing capabilities The high freeboard, wide decks, together with a beautifully appointed and comfortable living accommodations all contribute to this unique and magnificent vessel.   The topsides and deck were recently professionally resurfaced with two coats of Awlgrip and all the teak trim professionally redone with 8 coats of varnish.   NIRVANA is easily handled by a couple, with its electric winches, roller furling, doger/bimini, and abundance of electronics

Accommodations:

Entering from the center cockpit companionway, one finds a beautiful varnished mahogany interior with teak and holly sole throughout.  The large Main Salon has an L-shaped dinette to port with a pull out transom berth, another settee- transom berth to starboard, a navigation/electronics station, a flat screen 15”TV, and huge amounts of storage, bookshelves, with access to a starboard machinery room/workshop. Forward is a full head, vanity, and shower.   The forward Guest Stateroom has tastefully covered twin V-berths, and an opening hatch. The galley is located aft of the Main Salon on the port side in the large passageway toward the master stateroom. Here the cook is always safe in a seaway. A long Corian counter/top with double sink, Force 10 three burner gimbaled stove with oven and broiler on the outboard side, another Corian counter with microwave oven on the inboard side and easy access to the amidships engine space beneath the inboard counter. Continuing aft is the en-suite Master Stateroom with a single and double berth, a large head compartment, with vanity and a stall shower. There is a double door/hatch access to the private spacious owners cockpit from the Master Stateroom.
